This is a sewing pattern I'm working on at the moment. I was going to call it the "Little Cleo" Dress because of the cleopatra-style circular neckline and shoulders. Miss Wink decided, though, that it should be named after the little elephant fabric and who am I to argue with 4 year-old logic?

As cute as the buttons are, the dress is a bit fiddly to do with the back opening and I've since come up with a much simpler slimline collar which slips on over the head. I'll post photos of that version asap.

The lovely sales assistant at the Remnant Warehouse where I bought the fabric told me elephants with their trunks up are considered to be a sign of good luck. I'd never heard that but I really like the idea of a lucky dress so I'm going with the idea...

She looks lovely. I was at Remnant Warehouse yesterday....that place is bad for my wallet. Love the elephant material!

I'm impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that's equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is an issue that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I came across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
