Filling in that oh-so-long break between pre-school and the start of big school - quite a challenge, no? I take my hat off to Mums (and Dads) who are veterans at this!
What to do? Craft, of course - some cloth dolls:
Totem tennis (also fun to play after a glass or two of red when the kids have gone to bed....):
Books. In particular, ongoing reading sessions of an old Aussie classic:
And a real lifesaver on days when the house feels like an oven - the blow-up pool (thank you Kmart!):
I still have the copy of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie from when I was a kid. What a great book!!
Love the idea of totem tennis with a glass of red (or three). Must try that one.

I love those gumnut babies. When I was little, I refused to believe they were boys. Their eyelashes were just too long and pretty.
