This a simple project using the template from my ballet slipper charm pattern (available as a free download here).
This time around I used the pattern as the basis for an applique and altered the design slightly by adding some small straps across the middle - instant Mary-Janes!
The shoe shapes were appliqued to a coordinating square of fabric which was in turn appliqued to a larger rectangle (used as the front of a drawstring bag).
Here's the finished bag. The method for making the bag itself is super easy-peasy and I've listed the steps in a photo gallery which you'll find in my blog sidebar.
Note: this is an unlined bag and more suitable for soft shoes, lingerie, pyjamas, ballet clothes etc. If you want a bag to store or carry heavier items like toys or books you may need some reinforcement and I'd recommend you Google a tutorial for a lined bag pattern.
