These simple gift tags were made by chopping up bits of coloured cardstock to gift tag size and running them through the machine using various decorative stitches in different directions.
They were lots of fun to make and a great opportunity to use those stitches that you never seem to use in everyday sewing.
The inspiration for this came from an old issue of Martha Stewart Christmas magazine in which a snowflake stitch had been used to decorate some gift tags and packaging. Alas, my humble Janome has no such stitch but I think these are pretty enough!
Cute! My poor old Brother workhorse has even less fancy stitches, but I have made mine from cutting up old cards and postcards to luggage tag shape. :) I love Christmas.

Oh I am definitely making these next year. My tags this year were not my best work and these would have been so much better! I don't feel like making all new ones this year, but NEXT YEAR for sure!!!

Oh I love them! Alas my Husquvana was my mum's and is maybe 35 years old. It's a great machine, but has no fancy stitches....

I love it! I always buy machines that have 564 million fancy stitches that I never use but that is actually a great way to use them ....just because you can!
clever! Hope you have a wonderful christmas Marina with your gorgeous girls (who are just getting cuter by the way)
