Fabric panel frenzy
We're going a little crazy for Kristen over here with the Matryoshka Fabric Panels. I bought one in the red and blue colourway at the Stitches & Craft Show and liked it so much that I then ordered one in the red and blush pink. The panels are so clever, each with a series of dolls in different sizes and design variations. The panels also include 2 coordinating prints you can use to back dolls, cushions or whatever you make with them. So many possibilities!
First I made some dolls (Miss Wink loves to stare at these - something about the stark red and white contrast is very appealing to babies......):
Next a denim wrap skirt for Cee Cee with a Matryoshka pocket patch. (The photo doesn't do the fabric justice here but I'm really happy with the way this looks in reality.) This skirt is my own design and I'm hoping to write the pattern up (if I put that here it might hold me to account!). I used a different fabric (Lecien Folklore) for the ties, pocket trim and buttons because it happened to coordinate perfectly with the colours.
Finally some sewn notebooks which (along with the dolls) will make some fab Cxxxxxmas (no, I don't want to say it) presents.

Love the skirt - it is so elegant looking.
