Because owls are so undeniably cool, and because their popularity never seems to wane amongst small kids (and big ones) I decided to develop my own owl templates to use for both general applique and for decorating notebooks, cards and other paper-crafty stuff.
Here are some mother and baby owl notebooks made from wool felt, fabric and my very special wooden buttons with the little stitchy design around the perimeter. I got a batch of these from All Buttons Great and Small (they make great softie eyes).
The two pink and green Freshcut fabrics are my favourite designs/colourway from that range. Shame that (according to Heather) Freshcut is now out of production. I do, however, love her new ranges and am making some dresses for the girls in the Pop Garden and Bijoux fabrics which I'll show soon.
I have been looking around your site today for the first time and will definitely be back. I am also going to pass your address on to my daughter who is suddenly obsessed with aprons and would love to see yours.

Those owls are so cute. I love the fabrics you used, and the button eyes ARE perfect.
